Its a new BT hub one but all routers are plug and play virtually, my last one was a cheapo Linksys one I got from Tesco's for £25 just plugged that in and never touched a thing (I live on a farm with no neighbors to leach off my wireless connection) PC recognised it and every game worked fine, the only times I've ever had problems its turned out to be from outside sources BT or ISP or whoever is digging cables up / messing with ****e etc.etc. beyond my control but it doesn't stop you from thinking its something that's broke on your end and who knows something might have lol

I'm Not much help really Jock, But i know how much of a hassle it can be when things aren't running smoothly, feck it off and start going to the pub for a month or so instead that's what I say

I'm getting to that stage real quickly!!

I take it though when you bought your linksys will you have had to tinker with it a bit jsut to get it to work with all your isp settings?

Like if i use my BE box its all set up as they set it up before they send it to you but when i got my linksys i had to input all the ip, gateway, dns etc.

I could try a cheapo router from the likes of tescos but im worried i get it and still have the same hassle so id have wasted my cash.

Yes I had to enter the password etc. that Talk Talk gave me but that was it and deactivate the wireless bit as I was plugged in manually.

Now with BT, shiney new hub sent, I just entered the number on the underside of the router set some passwords to secure the network and bought a Belkin N+ wireless adapter to plug into my PC, getting 107Mbps out of it which isn't bad considering our walls are solid stone.

Like I said though it may be some outside source creating the problem for you, not much you can do about that, mind you burning down the local BT Exchange cant hurt at least they'll put some new kit in there then

The only thing that makes me think though that it has to be something to do with settings is that it worked perfectly before i reset the stupid thing. Only now is it playing up. I mean i've tested other games so its obviously set up right to a certain extent.

The whole computers ready to go out the window.

    Well whod have guessed.

I tried out the new netgear router and had no joy so i plugged back in the old one. I thought i may as well and uninstalled MW2 and then reinstalled it, and the router with no changes to it now works a treat and i'm back to normal. Now i know nothing about networks and routers but i still dont really see how reinstalling the game would all of a sudden make it work. But i'm not too bothered at least it works.
