    Me and My hard di..sks

    Me and my hard disks.
    Right ho.

I upgraded to W7 From Xp. Now here comes the thing. My hard discs are partitioned like so >>>>

I didnt do the partitioning a friend did, I have no clue.

As He told me cause my hds are partioned when i upgrade all my programmes are still there and will still work. I can see all my programmes are still there but win 7 cannot and also half of them do not want to work? Does this mean i will have to delete all the programmes i have on ther and re install them totally?

also is there a quicker way to get rid of it all if i have to other than highlighting it and pushing delete?

And if there is a batter way to have it set up other than i do above pls some one slap some senec into me

Programs wont work after a windows re-install as all the registry entries will be deleted. Static files like music, video etc will.

And if you're gonna post massive pics, please post thumbs! If you upload your pics here, they'll automagically be resized.

Click on the 'insert image' button when making a post, or use an imagehost like imagehost.org which gives a link to a thumbnail.

I've never been a fan of partitioning, but there are programs which can un-partition (return them to a single drive space) without loosing data. PartitionMagic and Acronis are tools I have used before in tackling tricky hard drive issues.

As for programs not working, you say you have upgraded windows, this may sound stupid, but have your reinstalled a player such as VLC or Media Player Classic, and all the appropriate codecs?

Everything fixed now. Ive basically used this to make my self clean my pc up. Take out all the games and programmes i never really use and put on the few i do and organise it all abit better works much better now

So was this all the result of upgrading rather than doing a clean install of windows? When I went to Windows 7 I opted to do a fresh install as I never really trust an OS upgrade to go smoothly or cleanly.
