Car Dock and case for iphone 3gs?

Wondered if anyone would be able to advise me as I'm looking to buy some stuff for a new iphone.

For my ipod I've got a dock that sits in the lighter area of the car, and then has a flexible neck and the ipod sits in it, allowing it to be played on the radio as well as charging it. Although it still works with my iphone in terms of playing music, it doesn't charge it so I could do with buying another one. Can anyone recommend one that they have possibly bought in the past and they know works with an iphone 3gs?

While I'm at it I also want a case though mainly just to make sure the front doesn't get scratched to bits over the term of the contract. Some of the case cover everything except the front so they are no good, and I really don't want one of these protective films. Can anyone recommend a decent case that would protect the front of it?

    Thanks

This is the dock I use for my 3gs - http://www.griffintechnology.com/pro...smartscan-2008 the version I have is not designed to work with the iphone but still plays and charges ok.

There's a new version due out soon apparently http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/roadtrip.

i use the tomtom car kit for iphone. Combined with tomtom app it improves the gps on the device, faster and even comes with a BT handsfree. Little expensive maybe, but worth it imho

For a case, i gave up worrying about scratching the screen. It was too inconvenient to have a face plate. I had a case with a nice easy to remove face plate (clipped onto the back when not in use). I never really used it. The other problem is getting the case off to put it in a dock. Most docks do not work with a case. I finally settled on a case that offers great protection (mine even was tested on 3 flights of stairs) and is easy enough to remove, even one handed. it also had a kickstand which i actually use a lot.

They make several versions, but the one i linked is what I have.

I've got a little case that I bought on ebay for nothing. It's quite good and protects the whole iphone.

It's the same as this one :

Is that what you are looking for ?

ive just got the clear stick on face covers only cost 3quid for a pack of 4 , with 2 kids who love to play games on my iphone with sticky fingers its a godsend, ive also just got a rubberised cover which just slips on.

must be said the damn things not half as slippy with this cover on it and theyre both cheap as chips and easy to put on or take off.

It's not the size of the hammer that counts, but how hard you smash that damn nail!
