Any idea what the blue screen of death message said?

Try taking out every stick of RAM apart from 1, leave the 1 stick which is closest to the CPU if 775 socket, or furthest away if i7.

And when you turn your computer on, you now get no display at all? If so, I'd test your Graphics card, and if thats ok, test your PSU.

Ok, so its a pre built computer? Best think you can do, if you're getting no post or/and display. Is to either phone the place you got it from, or take it to a local computer shop.

I believe its a hardware fault.

probably an overheating problem. you could try taking the side panel off and get a desk fan to blow directly at the inside. i had a computer that this needed doing to it every summer.
