It's amazing! No, seriously.
Ok fine! Here's some pics first:
Here's the small pouch they give you. Not really sure I'll ever use it but it's a nice thought nonetheless.
Now this is what quick start cards should be like - short and simple!
The contents of the rest of the box (minus the phone of course). American charger to micro-USB, micro-USB cable, headset and battery.
Starting up for the first time! Very slick startup animation!
Here's my HTC Hero and Nexus One side by side. The Nexus One by default is set to auto-adjust the screen as is the Hero but here I set it to medium.
Bottom of the two phones. The Hero is thicker than the Nexus One anyway but that jutting chin really takes the biscuit from this angle.
Here you can see how much thicker the Hero is compared to the Nexus One. The Nexus One really is damn slim!
Here are the two phones but this time I set the Nexus One's screen up to high. Really makes a difference!
The email client is far better than the Heros' at present (it's still using Android 1.5). I find reading my emails from work and Hotmail far easier and I don't have to scroll as much. Though this is also helped by the higher resolution of the Nexus One.
The Android Market Place also has had an overhaul - much cleaner than before. You can now sort apps by 'paid' and 'free'.
Me playing a game called 'Tower Raiders' which in essence is exactly the same as Defence Grid that you can find on Steam (minus the graphics of course). Really liking it so far and the full game is $4.99 which I may eventually buy!
Overall I'm very happy with it so far. The screen really is something else and easily beats the iPhones' screen hands down! Kinda missing the HTC Sense UI just a little bit with the email and calender widgets though. It'd be nice to see my emails without having to go into the inbox and likewise with the calender but these are minor grips and there's a strong possibility there may be replacement apps in the store but I haven't looked yet. Also with the email client you get a 'merged' inbox which is a nice touch indeed!
Currently trying to run down the battery asap for it's first cycle. Got the work email set to 'push', Hotmail to check every 5 minutes, the screen turned up, wifi on and streaming music over Last.FM right now. Started this at 89% and am now down to 77% so far after over half an hour. Not bad really but of course this isn't a reflection of normal usage on a 'primed' battery so it's looking promising so far. May browse some sites later along with play some more games to see how fast I can drain this down. Haven't set the screen timeout though, that's left at 1 minute because I still wanna simulate 'normal' settings as much as possible. Oh and GPS is on for all the good it'll do lol!
Will report back later to see how long this lasts (got a stopwatch app going in the background lol). Will post some screenshots later if I can get it working.
