New Razer Mouse pad, the Vespula

Here is a new razer mouse pad. I quite like their products, so I thought I would post about this one:

    Attachment 115

The dual-sided Razer Vespula™ Gaming Mouse Mat provides two distinct gaming-grade surfaces on an abrasion-resistant hard coat to suit your preferred level of gaming glide — SPEED for smoother fast-paced action that maximizes freedom of movement; and CONTROL for ultra-precise movements and tactile feedback with its textured surface, allowing you to adjust your mousing surface to any specific gameplay-requirements with incredible ease. Extended gaming sessions are now possible with its memory conformance wrist rest that is designed to reduce fatigue for additional performance enhancing advantage over the competition. Take the fight to your enemies’ doorsteps with the Razer Vespula.

Dual-Sided Mouse Mat For Your Individual Needs
Whether you prefer to gun down your enemies with the increased glide of the SPEED surface or with ultimate precision from the CONTROL surface, the Razer Vespula offers the right surface that suits your playing style.
Enhanced Tracking Surfaces Validated by Professional Gamers
The Razer Vespula’s dual surfaces have been developed for enhanced tracking by the same scientists at Razer that have invented the most precise gaming mice in the world today. Professional gamers have also put the Razer Vespula through thousands of hours of intense gameplay to validate the tracking surfaces for tournament play.
Memory Conformance Wrist RestThe soft gel-filled wrist rest protects your wrist from injury and fatigue, allowing you to enjoy longer gaming sessions like never before.

I have a similar Alienware mouse pad that I got with my laptop a few years ago, still using it now.

Fantastic, I tend to use the fine for FPS and the coarse for when I'm in vehicles etc.

I wonder how this any different from the Razer eXactMat that was released a few years ago, and is rubbish with Razer Mamba?

For £30 it better work with the Mamba. Seems a bit silly, to me, to pay that much for a mouse mat. But I suppose if you really play games enough, or value gaming time that much, then it's just about justifiable.

Saundie: From what I can see, the only difference is the gel rest which is absent on the ExactMat. I still use that one by the way, and it works like a charm. How come it doesn't work with the Mamba?
Nicky: It is absolutely lovely in many little ways for people that use the mouse a lot in general. Foremost being the reasons that a) it doesn't slide like most mats tend to do after a while, b) it does not wear at all, judging from the time I've used it and c) it does offer better traction than most mousepads tend to do, making those little precise movements a teensy bit easier.

It doesn't track properly on either side. The best way I can think to describe how it behaves is to liken it to a ball mouse with a split in the ball, making it an irregular shape. I get much better tracking on my wooden desk surface than I do on the eXactMat.

I love marketing. You take a mousemat, add some magic and you have ten pages on how it is better than all the other mats combined. I know as well, I work in marketing!

it is probably the same material as the destructor which is a plastic. This is the new replacement for the exactmat. I have both the destructor and the exactmat. Used the exactmat for years, but now use the destructor and like it better. BTW, my exactmat came with the wrist rest, and i used the rest with my destructor. the destructor is a speed only mat, so this new one adds the control on the other side. I think my mouse mat does make a difference when i play, because if I dont use it or use some other kind, i do not do as well.
