Right just ordered 2 of these to see if they are better than the wireless, or lack of it in my wife's study, will let you know if they are any good, and easy to setup.
P.S. alot of places have these at £30/35 each, got these at £19.99 each, and you need 2 for it to work

Right got them this morning and it took longer to unpack than to set up, it was so easy, and the the speed is good too.
To anyone who has wireless problems these are a very good solution, they use the mains supply around your house to send to any socket in the house and even works on a 4 plug extension.

Yeah it'll work fine Baloo. It just extends your ethernet port on the router using the electrical 'ring' in your house so you don't need to run a cable all around your house. I use mine to link my switch in my room (in the loft) to the router downstairs on the ground floor landing. I means I can connect my pc, PS3 and 360 to the internet using a 'wired' network because the 360 doesn't have wifi and my PS3s' wifi isn't powerful enough to maintain the signal at that distance.

This look pretty handy for Uni actually... where I'm likely to be going there are no wireless networks allowed in the accomodation (so you can't leech off other people's internet) so you get a single ethernet port in your room. That's a bit of a pain because I want to get on Xbox Live and the internet on my PC when I'm there - would one of these gadgets allow me to connect to the internet on both at the same time? (I.e. this thing in the mains and to my Xbox, and my PC connected to the existant ethernet port?)

Just get a router that will address this. If you already have a wifi router available, you can always disable the wifi to comply with the rules.

I agree with Dragon. Just look a places like DABs etc. and buy a cheap router although make sure it will accept an ethernet plug as the internet 'input' as well as the normal modem cable.
