So last night, I ended up getting free tickets to go see a film. Something that Universal call "Tell Ten". They choose a few people to go to this cinema (admittedly my name wasn't on the ticket, but the person who was on it couldn't make it... so with some Photoshop wizardry, my name WAS on the ticket... *cough*) and watch a film for free. No Frills. No spills. The idea being that if you like it, you tell ten people - a clear way to boost sales, and if you don't, well as the little man on the big screen said before the film started playing "Keep your mouth shut".
Which leads me onto "The Wolfman".
I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much. The cheesey title put me off somewhat. So I sit, and I watch. And I was presently surprised. Not knowing any of the cast, I was pleased to see some familiar faces, well Anthony Hopkins and the dude who plays Agent Smith in Matrix.
Careful not to ruin the plot too much, the film, as the title implies is about a Wolfman, or as we in the know call it a "Werewolf"...
It was more violent than I expected, only rated 15, but enough to see faces ripped up, guts ripped out, heads knocked off, and all round "Amagad dont let the oversized dog take my baby!!" routine. The acting is good, the storyline is fairly "dark" - a nice change from the 'Happily ever after' routine I've become subjected too more recently in the cinema and a couple of twists that keep the story going.
So with that in mind, I recommend you go and see it. Not because some company bribed me too, but because its generally pretty good. Alternatively you could just grab a pirated copy from somewhere...
I've attached a trailer here, to whet your wolfy appetites:
And with that, I've sucessfully completed my "Tell 10"... so if you're the 11th to read this... fook off!![]()
