Dragon Age: Ridiculously powerful spell

Finally made it to the face-off with the Archdemon, but I'm stunned by his powerful spell.
The one which crashes my computer every time I play it at some point during the fight.

Anyone got any tips on how to sort this out?
I've tried reducing the graphic levels etc, but don't want to reinstall the game as I've been playing it for weeks to get this far.

have you patched? they are on like 1.4 i think

i have not found the Archdemon hard ever. You can just use the catapults around the edge of the map to hurt him if he is that hard for you.

Was fiinding him quite straightforward really, apart from the constant crashes. Got all my armies left so throwing them at him too.
Haven't done patch 1.4 though, so will give that a go. Ta.

Could be a ram issue. I remember when I played one of the Lord of the Rings games, the Helms Deep level would reduce to a crawl when the enemies came flooding in, when I upgraded my ram the issue went away.
