    Crysis 2 First Looks

    Link: http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/108/1082753p1.html

    New trailer:

The nanosuit is one of three key areas Crytek is focused on. Cevat explains his intention is to make the use of the suit more accessible by reducing the layers of interface. This time around, for instance, you will have two basic modes, a hunting mode that emphasizes stealth and a tank mode designed for direct combat. In one you can sneak around invisibly, but in the other you can really soak up damage before going down. You can also activate a secondary mode that determines whether you want more power or greater tactical awareness.
The second big pillar of the sequel is the location of New York. Drawing on the concept of the "urban jungle," Crytek has created levels that have a much more vertical focus than those on the previous game's island. Given the city's ruined state in the game, there are also lots of opportunities for cover. Despite the move to a city setting, Crysis 2 remains a game that takes place mostly outdoors, so you won't be spending much time running in and out of buildings as you fight against the aliens.
    But most importantly!
When asked if PC gamers need to be worried that the performance ceiling on the consoles will set a lower limit on the PC presentation, Cevat said that the team is fully committed to taking full advantage of the PC's expanded graphics power.

The reason I didn't enjoy Crysis towards the end was the aliens, and it looks like Crysis 2 will be all aliens D:

I loved it until it went pew pew on my ass.

I love the last quote it means people who do';t have a hex core and crossfire 5970's or 4 way 480's won;t be able to run it decently.

    Byebye E8200 for me then

I'm sure it won't be all pew pew, there'll be lots of sneaky sneaky too. Loved that in the first game!

Anyway, looks ace to me! And as for the aliens, I think they're great but they just didn't quite fit in Crysis because the bit without them was so awesome - the aliens were a bit of a downer.

The aliens are more humanoid and if the preview is anything to go by Nomad is at odds with human forces aswell so its not too bad
On my terrible old pc (2,3ghz single core, 8600gt, 2gig ram) I played this @ the detail of high and the settings of low with the help of some mods. It wont be long till Crysis 2 has these I reckon

Good point - I also found a couple of handy loaders for Crysis and Warhead that stripped a few things out but allowed me to play it with plenty of eye-candy at decent framerates. But Dragon you're really going to have to upgrade if you even want to play this on low with a loader program me thinks

    I upgrade a few months back - 2.3ghz Quad core, 9600gt, 8gig Ram, a nice 1920/1080 monitor and 1tb harddrive
Pushed some good settings out of the old crysis which with a graphics mod looked sweet, so im hoping it can do the same for crysis 2

I might just buy it because of that trailer..... But tbh in the first games i didn't like the fact you were bullet proof and basically a super human. Made it so much less satisfying when i was ripping apart troops armed with nothing more than a pair of trousers and a funny hat. And where the **** did the aliens come from?!!?!?
