What do you do?

I have decided that to better get to know even some of the veteran BFBers, I would ask this question in the forums.

What do you do? Do you have a job? Are you a student? Are you unemployed/housewife/husband or like me, employed on an ad-hock basis which is barely making you any money!!

Obviously this is quite a personal question, but if you don't want to say, don't say

So yeah, as I stated earlier, I have a job where I get the odd hours here and there and I never know if I'll get work one week to the next. When I DO get some work, it's just in a cafe or delivering buffets to offices etc.

I'm not really trained in anything useful (TV production and jewellery manufacture). As you can imagine, there's not a lot out there in those areas locally. My wife (Lynda) is deputy manager in a nursery, but will be going on maternity leave in January. Hopefully I'll get something else to pick up the financial slack that's coming!

When I'm not working (which is most of the time at the moment) I spend my time on here and doing housework. To be honest, I'd quite happily be a house husband if we could afford it. Not something I ever thought I'd want to be when I was younger

I'm a student at Cardiff University, just started my second year of studying Bsc Astrophysics (not to be confused with Astronomy ). Living with 5 of my mates from last year in a house which is pretty cool, it's one of their birthdays today so we're having a Mexican/tequila night tonight which is gonna get messsyyyyyy!

Good luck getting a solid job mate, tough times eh :/

I'm a Railway Signals Technician. The job title says pretty much what I (used to) do, although I'm not in the maintenance teams any more and spend my days fixing buttons on the signalman's panel and directing the teams to faults before they happen.

For the last 11 years I have worked as a Paramedic.

Yeah it's not easy but really it's all just copious amounts of calculus over and over again, I'm getting used to it
