Depending on what you're trying, I might be be able to help a bit.

I might be able to help, I know CSS, HTML, and a bit of PHP .

My answers is similar to weetz. depends what you want if you want just a nice shiny website then i could help but if you are wanting a database website thats more difficult.

I work with good old, HTML, XML, Javascript, flash, php and like to use the good old css style but can work other ways.

i build database/xml driven webapps for a living. i know some html, some css, some javascript. The only difference is that i create my stuff on microsoft platform c#.net. I use that to create web sites/apps, webservices, etc. I could help a bit if needed

i am running out of time for the web site. i leave on the 26th

i have been trying to do some of the main page, but i am just rubbish at this web design stuff. please I really need help.

My idea for the site is simple (i hope) main page with images, that i take on the way and upload, as the back ground. they change every when ever.
i am going to be take a Cyber-shot HX5VB with me which has gps tagging. is it possible to upload the pics and link them to google maps which when clicked display the image? if this works people can follow me on my 1000mi journey.

in the top middle of the page is the current challenge so Weybridge to Thurso. the other thing is a day counter on the top right that starts when i leave, day 1, day 2 and so on.

icons down the left of the page that are just links.

1. what is theonechallenge. when clicked a window opens over the main page just with text explaining why i am crazy.
2. the charities. again when clicked a window opens over the main page showing the 3 charities i am going to be doing this for. this will just display the name of the charity etc with a link that when clicked will open a new browser windows to that charities donate page at http://justgiving.co.uk, the pages i have created.
3. to a youtube page for my video diary. if you click the icon a window opens over the main page and you can see the video.
4. photo album arranged by date. again when clicked a window opens over the main page showing the album.
5. a personal donations icon linked through to paypal. and i really need some of these this is costing me more than i ever thought that it would.
6. possibly a blog.
that is all i can think about for now. I hope you guys can help with this, i really do appreciate any help.


when i tell people that i am doing this they don't seem to believe that one person could do this. it really is funny to see how people react when i tell them what i am planning,

this is what i was playing with for google maps. was looking at the flash api's. but its bloody greek to me.
