Reveiw? : Red Dead Redemption

Anyone else got this? Xbox 360?

Well its basically GTA, but its set in the 'Cowboy' time. Its in third person and you get to choose whether you are a bad boy who always gets bountys on him or someone that likes to help the local people. Your honour shows this as it goes up for doing good missions and down for doing gang missions against the law. There are many weapons in this game such as the Springfield rifle, Volcano pistol, Winchester repeater and more. The single player is great and i would highly recomend this game to anyone that has seen or played something like Assassins Creed.

Also there is a multiplayer on this game which is THE best part in game. There is 2 parts to the multiplayer and many ways you can play it. The first part of multiplayer is something called 'Free Roam' this is where you can gang up with other players and go and dominate other players in that session or complete gang hideouts for experience and leveling (1-50 levels). The second part is game modes, some of the game modes are Gang Shootout, this is basically TDM, Hold your Own, Capure the Flag and Free For All. These are all really fun to play and you get experience for levelling up.

Cheers Mini, I've been thinking about maybe getting this when the price comes down a bit and you've sold me :)

Couple of questions though; do you get to choose which missions you do as part of the main story, or are these "good" and "gang" missions just side-quests? Also, is it free-roaming like GTA? I.e. can you nick... horses I guess... and make friends, take them out and stuff and basically lead a life like in GTA, or is it very much based on just doing missions to complete the story more like a Mass Effect sort of game?

Been getting very into GTA IV lately so I hope it's like that but with horses :D

Well Nicky, it is a story mode that you can ignore if you wanted to although you get money and more unlocks, and yes you can do pretty much anything. Oh and yes you do get to choose which missions you do. :)
