So what do you think now the full game is out.
I'm loving iot so far, runs smoother than what the beta did on the same settings too.
One bad thing though it certainly doesnt seem to auto balance the teams, one was getting a hammering for most of the night last night and constantly had a good amount less players than the other.
Oh and Is it just me or do we only have the one mode on our server?

Epic, quite frankly :)
Single player seems very COD4 (well COD5 for the first mission :)) but theres nothing wrong with that. Performance is up 10fold on the beta for me - everything on high at 1080p with that HSAO thing on it runs and looks much better than the beta.
Multiplayer performance is up for me to - no lag spikes and everything feels generally more responsive. Liking the 4 maps I've tried - the vehicle combat is old school battlefield - engies + teamwork are a must on all vehicle maps.
Only annoying things are the plainly awfull server browser search and filter options - they just don't seem to work (including favorites/history) but I'm sure that this is either a bug that will get swiftly fixed or due to EA's servers being overloaded.
Generally very impressed with it - obviously I knew what to expect from the beta but the improvements have been so drastic that it feels like a new game :)

Agree with everying Munster syas. It really is an epic game if I'm honest.
The maps seem well thought out the destructable buildings add to the variety of every map you play. Weapon balance seems OK although no doubt that will play out more time we spend on it.
An excellently they have sorted the hit ratio out which means where u aim it actually hits. Oh and the M60 for the medic is amazing

Love it so far. It is fast paced without over doing it which I love. The destructible environments are so fun and opens up a lot of more tactical ways of taking a flag. Is it just me or is the sound on this game AMAZING compared to others?
only minus is what other people have said, the server browser and filter options there. another thing that has bothered me a lot in ALL BF games including this one is that it is almost impossible to chat while playing. For some reason you can't chat while waiting to respawn and if anyone writes anything it is gone in 2 seconds.
Last but not least, I LOVE the knife in this game!! :D

Is it just me or is the sound on this game AMAZING compared to others?
Yeah the sound is very good - DICE wrote thier own sound engine from scratch and the game mixes sound via your CPU without using your soundcard (which is one of the reasons this game NEEDS at least a dual core).
Though what is it with bfb jumping ship all the time. Im in a full squad of bfb, then they all leave and they set up another full squad. then i'm the server with bfb and they all leave and jump ona totally different server....

I really REALLY like it this far. Fell in love with the beta and it's better and better every day.
It's a good thing I have my new gp-card. :)
Too bad about our server though... there was a guy called something with abbygabb who seemed to cheat all the time.. :P
Only played SP so far, really liked it although it was very short, shorter than MW2. But I want to go back through and get one more collectable weapon and destroy some more COM stations. Thought it performed very well on my rig, I was worried that my GTX260 wouldn't run it at 1920x1200, but I turned off HBAO and put shadows on Low and everything was fine. Will try putting shadows back up to Medium or High later and see what that does.
Will be up for some MP tonight.
Yeah, in general it's cool. However....
1. Server browsing is really p*ssing me off. You can't even add anything to the favorites because it takes ages.
2. Why did they bother to give us all these unlocks in the limited edition? You still need to unlock them if you want some other unlocks. And I unlocked them already after only 3 h of play yesterday. Bullsh*t!
3. Besides it looks and feels more like a console game but other than that it's fine.

Yeah, I have special cheats already. I'll share them with you after I get a bit bored :)

When I tried the Beta (Only one day) I was really disappointed, but I love the full game ! :D
I feel like Marvin Heemeyer When I drive the tank :P
Ill be back home Sunday to pick some stuff up, and with any luck my copy will have arrived and i will be able to play for about 2 hours. ;)

oooh i am liking this, the physics are brilliant, i played the BETA too much, but never expected the single player to be this good?
I'm lost on how to unlock things - I got the limited edition unlock code but can't see how to unlock anything? my medic doesn't have a hub ffs - think I'm just getting confused :D
EA servers seem to be down at the mo though - can't login at all - feels like the old BF2 days ;)

had a go at mp for an hour or so with some of the bfb boys . it was very good frenetic action and thx for reviving me so much codey :)
and vexx dont kill me so much next time ;)
after a break for an hour i then couldnt log on to ea server so went onto sp game and wot a surprise! very good game :) bloody hell im agreing with redders our resident game guru . now if i could just get the welsh boyo on mp all would be good :)

Had a good few games earlier with the troops on the BFB server. Immensely enjoyed the action, presentation is astounding, immersive sound and rich graphics running amazingly smooth on my rig. Feels considerably less glitch-ridden than 2142, while seeming more chaotic and frenzied. I loved the 40mm AR grenade launcher, commonly called the 'L337 Tube' :D Kept picking you guys off with it! Can't wait till the servers are back online...

I am loving this the MP feels like we are getting back to the good old days of BF2........can't wait to get on the BFB server later to hunt down some tags!

Yeah it is back to 2142 with the friends list, it's on and off, but is working most of the time for me now, server browser does take ages, history doesn't work for me, and the SP AI with your buddies most of the time involves them waiting 20 feet behind you until you walk ahead a bit more, but these are just a few complaints in an otherwise great game.
first impressions are its pritty god dam good, shame the knifing system isnt like 2142 as it makes it easy for people to get out of sht by slapin knife and makes dog tags worthless in my opinon as alot are just luck and reaction/o sht quick hit the knife button.
one thing when the server pop is low can we not use tanks as in 2142 when we dint use the walkers?

I think we should have a poll about map rotation/ gametype/ map rules as i know there are a few maps that the majority hate (the bloom glare one etc) but if an admin can set up a proper poll with rush vs conquest and map rotation that would be great?

I love squadding with the boys but the actual MP game I still can't stand.
But the retail copy of single player is no different to the cracked copy no suprises there. Which still means it still very good.
I got up to 11 in the Beta like most people and found it ok, thought hit reg was very hit and miss.
I've only done about 2 hrs on the MP so far, but first impressions are that there is a ton of good stuff to unlock which you could really do with when you are still a low rank. As in I can't see many people sticking to the starter weapons like you could with the Krylov for instance. I'll keep playing and see how we go.
I cannae wait for my copy to arrive... but I was sensible and ordered it so it would arrive after my current assignments are due in :D

Thats one thing they've really sorted since the beta. The hit registering is excellent I say. I've not had one instance when i though WTF why isn't it registering which happened quite regualrly in the beta.
I know some people have said it takes a lot of bullets to kill people but its only so they can decrease it for hardcore servers.
Normally i'd say Hc servers aren't great, given the revive symbol is weak its almost impossible to know where people are who need reviving. Add to that u don't get to see the people who kill you so massive encouragement for campers and snipers.
But the lower hit amount for a kill is actually quite nice to play with. Alot more realistic and worth a go.
Im with you reaps i like the health amiunt in HC but theres a few other things about it im not so keen on. like not even iron sights for stationary guns. Last night on our server it didnt half feel like id empty whole clips into people who would then 1 shot kill me......though probably more to do with me than anything else.
Its a great game, lots of fun on the mutiplayer and the single game is ok too. There are a few bugs, especially in the menu, but i'm sure most of these will be sorted in due course....as always lol I give it 9/10 a must buy for 2010 :D

I love BC2 so far. The environments are stunning, the explosions are satisfying and the sound effects are incredible! I also really like the range of weapons, and the squad play is even better than in 2142. The only thing that annoys me so far is that I suck :D

Hardcore and normal? Is Hardcore mode something you have to unlock?

Hardcore mode is a server side option Nicky - It basically removes HUD and boosts weapon damage.

No you can't go prone, unfortunately. It pisses me off sometimes, coz you can't hide behind a rock or on the roof
I am pleasantly surprised by the single player, shame the MP connections and PB sucks....
Errrm, i like it, but i cant get out of CoD4 mode, i dislike the fact i have to hold a key to stay crouched and that i have to hold a key to sprint, but apart from that, it seems okay, ill have to play with some people as it seems more of a squad based game than the lone wolfedness of CoD4
Sorry to be different but I love the lack of prone in this. Ive played battlefield 2 and i hated the dolphin diving fest that it turned into. The game generally has to cater to the more casual/ arcade console gamer and as such the camping/ proning sniper has been stripped out. I can still see it having a role in the conquest maps but when we only have 32 players is it necessary? Dice have confirmed it wont ever have prone on any version so thats the matter settled anyhow..

You make an excellent point. I've also sort of become accustomed to having to find better hiding places to snipe from, rather than just lying on the ground anywhere I feel like it. And in all fairness, there are plenty of walls in the game that just happen to be the perfect height to shoot over :)
Loving the SP version - tried multiplayer but got my ass whooped as my CPU is not up to spec, got knifed multiple times and a KDR of 0/15 when I decided that perhaps I wasn't that **** and something was wrong :D
Really looking foward to MP action once I've worked out a decent CPU - scouring evilbay for an 8400 at the moment so hopefully will be a week or so before I join you boys ;)

games good just a better looking bf2 nice maps struggling with that weapons just now not been on a fps for a while so need more practise all in all very good game
I've had it for a few days now and I'm quite enjoying it! Would be nice to see all of the maps in an equal rotation on our server though (correct me if I'm wrong but they don't seem to be).
Still don't think it's as good as BF2 though!

Yeah bit annoying when you know a tank is next to you that u have to actually poke your head out and spot it. Add to that it sometimes takes a few hits to spot something as big as a tank but easily see's snipers miles away by spamming Q.

I thought I would get the game for my birthday... anyway after having a look at the EA UK forums I think I better remember the lessons learned with earlier DICE-games and wait some weeks or so until they really have a good patch-status. I simply don't have enough time to spend hours on getting a game running and then playing afterwards.
tbh its not that bad nowadays martin, i get home from workrun bc2 sign in and either join on friends or use history to jump on bfb server

I think it's like that when you're lucky with your spec. I read so much about problems with ctd and connections lost - I simply know that I'm gonna be one of those guys. It's Murphys law. In addition to this i wrote a news on a german gamesite concerning this patch. 20 minutes later there were 10 new comments (7 to 3 about "hey great, now everythings gone worse"). I think I'll surely have it, but as long as I can have fun with Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age (which I still had no time to play), I'll make my choice in direction to a fun-having evening rather than to a maybe-totally-frustrating evening. Hmmm - when I think about this... I seem to be getting old ;)
I'm loving Bad Company 2, have only had it 1 day. It's much better than the beta, weapons are more respnsive, people die without you having to empy 2 full clips into them, better graphics etc. etc.
